Vietnamese Cultural Night 2010

Hola back, this is gonna be the catch-up-post of the week.. Today's post is about the Vietnamese Cultural Night 2010 held by The Vietnamese Society in UNMC. The event was actually held a few months back, on 24th November (2months ago counting today is 25th of January).. My apology for late posting of this event due to my academic year project.

New Year's Eve 2010

Hola Hello and Hi,
It's been awhile since my last post. I was being so hectic with all my final year project and the recent one was terribly pack exam' schedule.. But, the good thing is, I am over with my fully-loaded-first semester of final academic year,, another semester to go before graduation.. (time flies really fast, innit?)

Today's post is about revealing what I was doing during the last New Year's eve, just before the year of 2011 approaching.. It might be a bit (really) late, however, better be late than nothing and I am suppose to post a few more ditched-photos of few events that I covered...

The UNMC's 10th Anniversary

My academic home for the past 3 years just celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 10th October 2010. Was it a good date? I don't actually know what the exact date is, perhaps they decided to make the celebration on the special once-in-a-lifetime day. Who knows?

Speaking about the event, it was pretty great since the management provided a bunch of attractive activities from the games, cut-the-air-baloon, hot air baloon of Nottingham, bands from students, and even guest bands. Guess everyone had a fun time together. For me personally, it was the first celebration of the anniversary ever since I came to UNMC and it was pretty blast. Never expected such things happen....

Andrew and Mitha's photo session

It is always a lovely time to see how both man and woman sharing their part of life together in a relationship. So is Andrew and Mitha who are my-ex highschool mate. They both are madly fallin in love each other. Andrew is a faithful man who dedicates his life to stay close with the creator of universe while Mitha is a hardworker woman where this couple indeed support each daily activities. I personally think that they make a great lovely couple.
On this session, they wanted the photos to be fun and full of cherish and as part of their request, they suggested to have the session in Museum Transportasi, TMII. The plan faced a couple of cancellation due to some foreseen circumstances and yet we still made it at the end of the day, which I am really glad.

Merlin & Steffi's Photoshoot session

A photoshoot session of my younger sister (Merlin) and her close friend (Stefi). The session was requested personally by my sister who asked me to do a photoshoot session for both of them. After a short discussion, we decided to do it at Kota Tua, Jakarta. During the shot, it was a really bright sunny day which I bet the air temperature might be nearly 40'C as it burnt me skin out. In addition, the sun casted a harsh shadow on the face. Such condition taught me that I need a reflector to get rid of the shadow. However, I pretty enjoyed the short session.

DJ Perpi - Groovy

Introducing DJ Perpi, a friend of mine and also the owner of Groovy Event Organizer. I was attending a sweet 17 party where Groovy took part in the event as the event organizer. The party indeed reminisced me about what I had a few years back when I was the same age with them and how fun the party was as well as all those ridiculous stuffs we made together.

One day trip to Taman Safari. It's been awhile for myself not visiting Taman Safari which is located at Cisarua, Bogor. I couldn't remember exactly when was my last visit, however, the place still remains lovely with all the amazing animals living.

Music Talent Quest 2010

Music Talent Quest 2010 was held in the Great Hall of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus a few months back. A couple of indie malaysian bands performed during the show as well as the contestants of the show itself.
It was a pretty challenging photo shoot for me due to inconstant lighting during the show, however it doesn't mean a surrender.

Della & Joe Tan (Sneak Preview)

Lovely couple who are madly in love as well as friends of mine who have deep passion in music. Della is a pop keyboardist who is still pursuing her degree in Lasalle College Singapore where on the other hand Joe Tan is Lasalle Graduated.
It's been a good time photo session with them. Wish both of them full of happiness and all cherish through their relationship.

It was not a long time ago since Singapore officially opened their new built Universal Studio. and I, finally, got a chance to visit and look whats happening around while accompanied my sister before she flew back to china.
It was a fun time to spend despite some rides are not opened yet. However, its good to enjoy the atmosphere and the other terrific rides they have. All we need is just FUN and TOGETHERNESS where the attendance of both girlfriend and sister was just made it perfect.
That also applies for photography where good photography requires the presence of the FUN to add more values in the photo, beside skills and technique means.

Annual Dinner 2010 - Old Hollywood and Glamour

WOHO,,! its been a while since my last post.. yeh, im quite busy lately.. well not, I've been snapping quite a few, yet, time didn't allow me to do work with the photos I've taken, so.... I got a little time now to post it up..
Today's post is about Annual Dinner event. yeh.. It's an annual event held by Student Association of UNMC. This year's dinner was held in Shangrila Hotel Kuala Lumpur under theme of OLD HOLLYWOOD and GLAMOUR.

what does come in your mind when you hear that sentence?

IMO, id say, it should be classy, oldish, so black-and-whitish..

hmm... forget it,, nothing necessary regarding that...
btw, Id say that this year's dinner wasn't that satisfying in terms of food.. well, the food served was awesome,, yet, unexpectedly only 1 appetizer soup, 1 main course which was herbs chicken (if aint mistaken..=p) and 1 dessert of pudding (which I missed it +_+").. Its totally contrast compared to last 2 years annual dinner which was served with around 10 kinds of foods...
I don't care, apparently, the tradition has never changed.. Annual Dinner always be the event for all students to show their narcissistic side by taking as many photos of them with their mates as they can. Even, some of them really dont care about whats goin on the stage, or some are just likely to ignore the dinner. weird? yeh, thats what exactly happen from year to year.

Veg Fish Farm

Yo! I wanna share abit bout this restaurant where I had yesterday night with Marco and Lixin.. This place called Fish Farm which is located nearby Look Out Point Ampang.. You just need to go straight for a few km(s) after u pass the Look Out Point, and on ur left hand side, u can clearly see a sign board pointing to this particular place..
Hardly to say that the way reachin to this place is not comfortable.. The road is stoned, covered with sands, and, u know, sort of off-road track.. so,u cant really drive fast over here... One more thing that should be put for attention, ensure u dont have a pair of sleepy-eyes since they have no street light along on the way there, so the only lighting source is your head lamp's car.. hahaha... not too bad though to go at night as more people come at night instead of afternoon when sun is still appearing on the sky. =p

the unique of em is they made this place floating above the pond.. *is it pond* ah, i dont know, but surely its water.. haha...

after we had the seat,, li xin got the menu card while I and marco was busy playing with the camera.. As no one helped her to order the food, she got headache.. hahaha. *sorry*..

However, she managed to order all those foods below.. yeay!!!

Fried Bayam: the food that I love the most.. aahh,, the taste is so unique.. =p

Garlic Lala

BBQ Crab : well,, I didnt really suit with this food... I didnt know why the crab's meat turned to be really soft and kinda slummy... From what lixin said, the crab wasnt fresh... However, the table next to us was ordering the same crab, and apparently, thats the result of being BBQ, hence, it caused the meat turned to be soft and... wew.. I dont like it.. really,, hahaha..

the last order was Tomyam ... ??? I dont know, I just knew that it was Tomyam..

 
and we ordered sea coconut as our drink...
